Which image formats can I compress?
JPG/JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and TIFF work everywhere. HEIC (iPhone photos), AVIF and TIFF rely on the
libvips library on the server; if it isn't installed those specific formats may be unavailable, while the common ones keep working.Will I lose quality?
For photos, compression is lossy — we keep the result visually close while cutting size, and on the High preset the difference is usually imperceptible. PNG compression is lossless for flat-colour graphics. If a file is already small, we keep your original instead of returning a bigger one.
Can I compress to an exact file size?
Yes. Enter a target in KB (or MB) and the tool searches quality — and, if needed, downscales the longest edge — to land at or under your target, then reports the size it reached.
Is it safe and private?
Your file is uploaded over HTTPS, processed on our server, and the upload is removed right after. The generated result is cleaned up automatically by a periodic job. We never share your files and no account is needed. See our Privacy Policy.
