Compress PNG online

Shrink PNG files while keeping transparency and crisp edges.

PNG is a lossless format built for graphics with flat colour, sharp edges and transparency — logos, icons, screenshots and diagrams. This PNG compressor reduces the file size by optimising how those colours are stored, so the image stays pixel-sharp and keeps its transparent background.

PNG won't shrink as dramatically as a photo saved to JPG, because it never throws detail away. If your PNG is actually a photograph, converting it to JPG or WebP will usually be far smaller — and we link those tools below. Files are processed privately and deleted right after.

Frequently asked questions

Does compressing a PNG keep transparency?
Yes. Transparency (the alpha channel) is preserved — the result is still a PNG with the same transparent areas, just stored more efficiently.
Why did my PNG barely get smaller?
PNG is lossless, so there's a limit to what can be removed, especially for photographic content. If the image is a photo rather than a flat-colour graphic, converting to JPG or WebP will shrink it far more. Use the related tools below.
Is a PNG or a JPG better for my image?
Use PNG for logos, icons, screenshots and anything needing transparency or crisp text. Use JPG/WebP for photographs. WebP often beats both on size.
Is it safe and private?
Your file is uploaded over HTTPS, processed on our server, and the upload is removed right after. The generated result is cleaned up automatically by a periodic job. We never share your files and no account is needed. See our Privacy Policy.
