Reduce image size online

Lower an image's file size in KB/MB — and its pixel dimensions if you want.

"Image size" can mean two things: the file size (KB/MB on disk) and the dimensions (pixels wide × tall). This tool reduces both. Compression lowers the file size while keeping the picture looking right, and the optional Max width/height setting scales large images down — which cuts the file size even further.

Set an exact target in KB to meet an upload limit, or just pick a quality preset. It works on JPG, PNG, WebP and more, and never enlarges an image beyond its original dimensions. Everything is processed privately and deleted right after.

Frequently asked questions

Do you reduce file size or image dimensions?
Both, your choice. Compression alone lowers the file size at the same dimensions. Opening Advanced options and setting a maximum width/height also scales the image down, which reduces file size further — useful when a photo is far larger than it needs to be.
How do I hit a specific KB limit?
Enter the target in the Target size box. The tool searches quality and, if needed, downscales the longest edge to reach it, then reports the exact size.
Will reducing the size blur my image?
Downscaling keeps images sharp; it's enlarging that causes blur, and we never upscale. Heavy file-size targets can soften fine detail, so use a larger target if sharpness matters.
Is it safe and private?
Your file is uploaded over HTTPS, processed on our server, and the upload is removed right after. The generated result is cleaned up automatically by a periodic job. We never share your files and no account is needed. See our Privacy Policy.
