Compress a photo for an online form

Hit the exact photo or signature size an application form asks for.

Online application forms — exams, recruitment, admissions, KYC — usually require a photo and a signature within strict limits: often a photo around 20-50 KB and a signature around 10-20 KB, sometimes with set pixel dimensions. This tool reaches those limits: set your target in KB and, under Advanced options, a maximum width/height if the form specifies one.

The compressor keeps the highest quality that still fits your target, and never upscales. If a photo can't reach a very small size at full resolution, it scales the longest edge down and tells you the exact size it achieved. For step-by-step limits and tips, see our guide on preparing photos for online forms.

Frequently asked questions

My form needs the photo under 50 KB. Can you do that?
Yes. Enter 50 in the target box (or use our compress JPG to 50 KB page). The tool fits the photo to that size and reports the result. For 20 KB signatures, use compress JPG to 20 KB.
The form also specifies pixel dimensions — can I set those?
Open Advanced options and set the maximum width/height, or use the reduce image size tool. We never enlarge beyond the original, so start from a photo at least as large as required.
Will it still look acceptable at such a small size?
For a small ID photo, yes — these targets are designed for exactly this. Very small signature limits can soften thin strokes; scanning the signature larger first helps.
Is it safe and private?
Your file is uploaded over HTTPS, processed on our server, and the upload is removed right after. The generated result is cleaned up automatically by a periodic job. We never share your files and no account is needed. See our Privacy Policy.
